The Nebraska Health and Human Services System issued the following news release:
Eight entities will receive a total of $294,323 from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health, for substance abuse prevention activities, primarily among school-age youth. The source of the funding is the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Drug-free Schools.
The goals of the funded activities are to decrease the number of youth who engage in substance abuse and/or violence; delay the age when youth begin to use Alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; improve academic achievement; promote positive adult/youth relationships; and provide community supports for youth both before and after school.
